I've been busy working on a homebrew version of Warhammer that cherry picks the best parts of the game. What I have come up with is Warhammer GOLD! After playing a couple rounds with my buddy Zac, I think it's actually pretty fun. If you want to give it a go with your friends, dig out the old scatter dice, templates, and codex books from before 8th edition 40k and have at it! Link Below:

My vision was to take what I love about 4th, 5th, and 6th edition, then carve out all the stuff I don't like (such as formations) then give the game a little bit of back and forth gameplay akin to the game "Bolt-action". Personally, I like the vehicle rules for 4th edition. Every now and then something will arise within the game that perhaps isn't explicitly covered within the new rules as written. So if you come across an issue, I encourage you to review some official rulebooks and perhaps roll some dice to settle any disagreements that may crop up with this new way of playing.
When I first started making this I wanted to dive deep and rewrite a ton of stuff, I made cards, I wrote codices, but slowly I learned less is more. Nobody wants to learn all my homebrew rules for all the different factions even if it did take a lot of time to write. So pick your favorite codex and play some games!
