I've been busy working on a homebrew version of Warhammer that cherry picks the best parts of the game. What I have come up with is Warhammer GOLD! After playing a couple rounds with my buddy Zac, I think it's actually pretty fun. If you want to give it a go with your friends, dig out the old scatter dice, templates, and codex books from before 8th edition 40k and have at it! Link Below:

My vision was to take what I love about 4th, 5th, and 6th edition, then carve out all the stuff I don't like (such as formations) then give the game a little bit of back and forth gameplay akin to the game "Bolt-action". Every now and then something will arise within the game that perhaps isn't explicitly covered within the new rules as written. So if you come across an issue, I encourage you to review some official rulebooks and perhaps roll some dice to settle any disagreements that may crop up with this new way of playing.
When I first started making this I wanted to dive deep and rewrite a ton of stuff, I made cards, I wrote codices, but slowly I learned less is more. Nobody wants to learn all my homebrew rules for all the different factions even if it did take a lot of time to write. So pick your favorite codex and play some games!
